The number of clothes you own should not be your guide

If you have a lot of clothes to hang and store, you can calculate how many hangers you’ll need by counting them. The situation might get tricky here, however. Where would you hang the remaining fifty hangers and clothes if you have say hundred items of clothing to hang and only fifty spots in the closet to hang them? You have to calculate it the other way round because of this reason. Calculate the space in your closet first, and then determine how many hangers you need.

You can measure the size of your closet by looking at it

It would be better if you could simply put in the length of the hanging rod you have or the amount of space you have to hang the hangers. Then, you can easily attach 16 hangers to every square foot of hanging space when maintaining the gap between each. To accommodate more clothes, tuck in one or two hangers per foot after 16. Depending on the clothes, however, you might only be able to accommodate 12-13 hangers per foot space if they require more space, such as jackets, blazers, etc. Now that you know how many hangers you need after measuring your closet’s hanging space, you can plan accordingly. In terms of a women’s closet, all of these statistics are useful.

It is likely that the numbers would vary for the men’s closet. The number of hangers per foot may be up to 19 if only t-shirts will be hung. The hanging space per foot can be increased to 15 hangers if you intend to hang bulky jackets and suits. 15 to 16 hangers per foot are sufficient for simple shirts and casual to format dresses.
